Family gatherings revolve around favorite foods. In my clan, we rave about my brother Jon's mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We praise my sister Leah's holiday baking. Barbecues aren't complete without our mom's potato salad, my sister Lorna's Korean barbecued beef and my "Shizuka-bobs," so named because Lorna's daughter, Shizuka, loves them.
