One-hundred-18 candles on a cake is a lot to blow out. And that`s how many it would take today for a North Dakota birthday cake. North Dakota became a state on November 2nd, 1889. President Benjamin Harrison signed the proclamation that also included South Dakota, Montana and Washington.
